Wagyu hot dog

If you fancy a change from the normal hot dog: instead of a Vienna sausage, we have opted for the premium version of a Wagyu sausage. This special beef sausage has a lot of flavor.
Ingredients
Ingredients for 4 portions
Classic hot dogs
  • 4 Vienna sausages
  • Brioche hot dog roll
  • 50 g sandwich gherkins
  • 4 tbsp hot dog mustard
  • 4 tbsp ketchup
Variations
  • Wagyu sausage
  • White cabbage salad
  • Coleslaw salad
  • Carrot salad
  • Red cabbage salad
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Jalapeños
  • Fried onions
  • grated Emmental cheese
  • BBQ sauce
  • Black hot dog buns

Preparation

  1. Grill the Wagyu sausages on all sides with the lid closed until cooked through.
  1. Just before the end, place the hot dog buns on top to warm and toast. In this example, these are cut in half – if you only cut them ¾ of the way through, you will be able to top your hot dogs better later.
  1. Top the hot dog buns as desired. Start with the lettuce and cheddar cheese, followed by the Wagyu sausage (or Vienna sausage) and topped with mustard, BBQ sauce, hamburger sauce, fried onions and grated cheese.
  1. This turns the boring hot dog into a real variety of flavors.
