Turkey skewers with potato hearts & herb dip

Love is in the air - especially on February 14, because that's Valentine's Day. The day when you give your loved one flowers and chocolates. But how about something a little different this year - why not treat them to a nice dinner for two? The perfect way to combine two highlights of the year: Barbecue + Valentine's Day. Delicious grilled turkey skewers with crispy potato hearts from the hot air fryer. Both served together with a homemade herb dip, that sounds so delicious, it can only taste good! Ingredients
Ingredients for 4 portions
Turkey skewers
  • 500 g turkey breast
  • 1 zucchini
  • 4 red onions
  • 4 onions
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • Mushrooms
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Soy sauce
  • Olive oil
Potato hearts
  • approx. 600 g waxy potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
Herb dip
  • 200 g cream cheese, quark or sour cream
  • 50 g cream
  • 1 packet of herbs
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 squeeze of lemon juice

Preparation

For the turkey skewers:

  1. Clean and chop the meat, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchinis and peppers.
  2. Thread everything alternately onto the skewers.
  3. Mix the olive oil and soy sauce together and brush the skewers lightly with the mixture.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder.
  5. Grill both sides at a low temperature, brushing occasionally with the oil-soy mixture.
  6. Grill until everything is well done.

For the potato hearts:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut lengthwise into 1 cm thick slices.
  2. Fill a large bowl with cold water.
  3. Use a heart-shaped cutter to cut out the hearts from the potatoes and place them in the bowl of water.
  4. Mix the hearts briefly and then drain well.
  5. Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, rosemary and paprika powder.
  6. add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and spread well.
  7. Bake the hearts in the air fryer for 20 to 30 minutes (or alternatively 45 to 50 minutes at 180°C fan oven) until crispy.

For the herb dip:

  1. Peel and press the garlic.
  2. Mix together with the other ingredients.
  3. Season and taste.

You can also add fresh herbs if you like.
Then arrange everything nicely on a plate and you can enjoy your Valentine’s Day with delicious food.
