Baked minced meat cannelloni from the hot air fryer
Known everywhere, loved everywhere. Penne, spaghetti, maccheroni, fusilli, farfalle. With sauce, pesto, meat, as a salad, as a casserole. Pasta over pasta and so many variations. I am also a big fan of simple and delicious pasta dishes. This recipe is all about extra-large pasta - cannelloni. Filled with roasted vegetables and minced meat, covered in sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese. A large portion goes into the oven, but a small casserole dish is great in the air fryer. Expand your range of pasta dishes with this delicious casserole from the air fryer and don't just reach for the small pasta dishes soon.

For the cannelloni
- 2 large tomatoes
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 onions
- 150 g carrots
- 1 stalk of celery
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 350 g minced beef
- 5 tsp tomato paste
- 3 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 250 g cannelloni
- Salt
- Pepper
For the sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp wholemeal spelt flour (type 1050)
- 300 ml milk (3.5 % fat)
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 50 g Parmesan cheese
- Salt
- Pepper
Preparation
- Wash and peel the tomatoes. Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic, wash and finely dice the carrot and celery. Cut the tomatoes into small pieces.
- Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the onions, garlic, carrot, celery and mince.
- As soon as the meat is browned, add the diced tomatoes and tomato purée.
- Wash the thyme, shake dry and pick off the leaves. Season the vegetable and meat mixture with thyme, salt and pepper and continue to simmer until the mixture has thickened well.
- Fill the cannelloni with the vegetable and meat mixture and place in a greased oven dish.
- For the sauce, heat the butter in a small pan, stir in the flour, sweat until light and stir in the milk. Bring to the boil, simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
- Pour the sauce over the cannelloni.
- Sprinkle the cannelloni with Parmesan cheese and bake in the air fryer at 200 °C for approx. 30-40 minutes.
Tip: To peel the tomatoes, make a cross-shaped incision in the tomatoes and scald with boiling water for a few seconds. Quench and peel without any problems.
