Lamb meatballs with filling

Meatballs, meatballs, meatballs, meatballs or meatballs - they have different names depending on the region. But they all have one thing in common: they are super easy to make and really do taste good for everyone. If you need something for Easter that is guaranteed to please all your guests, then this recipe for lamb meatballs with a delicious cheese and date filling is perfect!

Ingredients

Lamb meatballs with filling
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 onions
  • Parsley
  • Mint
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 500 g minced lamb
  • 75 g dates
  • 250 g cheese
  • 300 g tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • Paprika powder
  • Turmeric

Preparation

  1. Peel the garlic and 1 onion, wash a bunch of parsley and a bunch of mint and shake dry.
  2. Finely chop everything and sauté in 1 tbsp oil.
  3. Knead together with the mince, salt and pepper.
  4. Deseed the dates and cut into thin slices
  5. Cut half of the queso into 4 equal pieces.
  6. Cut the mince mixture into eighths and shape into small flat balls.
  7. now cover 4 of these balls with the queso and dates and sprinkle ½ tsp of the spices, salt and pepper over each.
  8. Now place the other pieces on top and press them firmly together at the edges.
  9. Now place the meatballs in a baking dish and add the remaining oil.
  10. Peel the onions, cut them into thin slices, wash the tomatoes and place both in the baking dish.
  11. You can now cut the remaining cheese into cubes and sprinkle on top.
  12. Finally, add the spices and leave to cook for 15 minutes in the SEVO with the lid closed at 220°C.
