Project with the University of Siegen: how can we become even more attractive to young professionals?
The shortage of skilled workers is one of the biggest challenges facing companies - but how can young talent be targeted and recruited? SEVERIN is working with the University of Siegen to get to the bottom of this question. THE “WAR FOR TALENT” DOES NOT STOP AT SAUERLAND.
South Westphalia. Forests, lakes, recreation, shooting festivals and a surprisingly large number of medium-sized businesses. Certainly very different from the hip start-up clusters in major German or European cities. Nevertheless, for many young, well-trained specialists, South Westphalia is a real prospect for their own center of life and thus also for their personal working life.
But how attractive is SEVERIN for young people today? What image do potential applicants have of us? What can we improve? Four committed students from the Future Workshop at the University of Siegen tried to find answers to these questions. They were supported by Robert Kebbekus (Head of the Future Workshop).
The students conducted in-depth interviews with almost 20 SEVERIN employees, surveyed over 60 external parties and summarized all their findings in a paper and a presentation. The latter was then presented to the management, the HR department and the works council and discussed together.
We are very pleased with the excellent input and the open exchange. We can incorporate many points into the ongoing change processes to ensure that SEVERIN remains an exciting employer in South Westphalia in the future.
