Behind the scenes!

We receive countless messages asking if we can take you behind the scenes again and your wishes are our command! Last week we gave you an insight into an event we had in cooperation with the Porsche Center in Solingen and today we're going behind the scenes of a video production for our eBBQ range.

With the launch of our SEVO electric barbecues in spring 2020, the production of a promotional film was a must. So it was time to put SEVO, meat, vegetables and creative minds in a room and get started or grill. But I won’t keep you in suspense any longer, just take a look:

But how does a video production generally work?

A video production goes through three important steps: Pre-production, production and post-production. In the video, for example, you can see the second step, but before it gets to that point, pre-production requires a lot of planning. A script is the be-all and end-all of a successful commercial – what message do we want to get across? Which and how many models need to be in the picture? How do we position the product? What location do we need? Music, decoration and so on. Thanks to our professional partner, pre-production is always very exciting and a full creative exchange. But at some point we get fidgety and want to implement the strategy we’ve worked out, and that’s how we get to production.

The days of production require a lot of concentration, the set has to be in place and all employees pay attention to every last detail. As potential risks have to be discussed in pre-production, such as the absence of a model due to illness, you sometimes have to be spontaneous and reschedule. But the course of the day is always fun, mishaps happen and then it’s all about smiling and getting on with it!

Anyone who thinks that’s all there is to it is sadly mistaken and should talk to our post producer. Because he’s now fighting his way through countless shots, finding the right spot and making everything, including music and editing, perfect. And the script helps here too, as the cuts and scenes have already been determined beforehand. And just like that, a finished video is created – in our case, two!

I still love watching the videos today and I get really hungry for something grilled. So I’ll say goodbye now and plug in my SEVO, plug in and grill – and yes, grilling is allowed in winter too!
