American Soft Cookies

No time, but still fancy something sweet? No problem: these delicious American soft cookies are ready in just 30 minutes! They are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Have fun making them!
Preparation time 10 minutes Cooking time 20 minutes
Ingredients
12 cookies
  • 250g soft butter
  • 100g sugar
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs size M
  • 360g wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200g chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. Beat the softened butter with both types of sugar for several minutes until creamy. Add the vanilla extract and eggs and mix briefly.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt, add to the egg and butter mixture and stir to form a dough.
  3. Fold approx. 180g of the chocolate chips into the batter using a spatula.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C top/bottom heat (fan oven: 160°C). Line two baking trays with baking paper.
  5. Using an ice cream scoop, cut approx. 12 balls from the dough, shape them into rounds with your hands and place them on the tray with plenty of space between them. Flatten slightly. As the cookies run, it is best to bake approx. 6 cookies on one tray.
  6. Spread the remaining chocolate chips over the dough balls and press down lightly. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for approx. 10-12 minutes. The edges should not get too dark, the middle of the cookies should still look a little moist.
  7. Remove the cookies and leave to cool on the tray for approx. 10 minutes. Then carefully transfer to a wire rack using a spatula. The cookies will then become a little firmer as they cool.

It is best to pack the cookies in an airtight container to keep for at least a week. Alternatively, they can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
