Caramelized tomatoes with lettuce and Sylt dressing
A good steak or juicy brisket needs the right seasoning - and with a hot beef rub, you can give your grilled meat the perfect kick! The hot, aromatic spice mix ensures a crispy crust and gives the meat an intense depth of flavor. Whether you want to slow-smoke your beef or grill it hot - this rub will take your barbecuing pleasure to a whole new level. In this article, you will find out which ingredients go into the mix and how you can easily make it yourself.
Preparation 10 minutes
FOR THE TOMATOES
- 500 g colorful cocktail tomatoes
- 8 sprigs thyme
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Salt from the mill
- Pepper from the mill
FOR SALAD
- 1 lettuce
- ½ bunch rocket
- A few sprigs of chervil
FOR THE DRESSING
- 1 fresh organic egg yolk
- 1 tsp mustard
- 4 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
- 50 ml water
- 100 ml vegetable oil
Preparation
- Preheat the grill to 500 °C with the lid open.
- Slice the tomatoes crosswise on two sides. Season with salt and pepper and mix with oil. Pluck the thyme from the stalks.
- Grill the tomatoes all over on the BoostZone until they burst open slightly. Then marinate in thyme, honey and lemon juice.
- Clean, wash and spin dry the salad. For the dressing, put all the ingredients except the oil into a blender jug. Season with salt and pepper and blend the oil with a hand blender, first drop by drop and then smoothly to form a dressing.
- To serve, place the tomatoes and salad on a platter and finish with the dressing.
