Ginger – The healthy effect of the miracle tuber
Ginger, ginger, ginger - health-promoting and a cure? The tuber is considered a miracle cure for colds thanks to its healthy ingredients such as vitamin C, magnesium, iron and calcium. But what can the tuber really do? I have tried it out for you and have some tips for you.

The root tuber, which is mainly grown in subtropical and tropical regions such as India, West Africa, Thailand and China, is considered a real all-rounder. The smell of ginger is aromatic, but the taste is burning hot and spicy. But once ingested, it has various effects: It lowers cholesterol levels, has an anti-inflammatory effect, aids digestion, relaxes and even improves fat burning.
Numerous studies have shown that the pungent gingerols and essential oils contained in ginger increase the metabolic rate and therefore also boost fat burning. However, the pungent ingredients of the root also promote blood circulation in the mucous membranes, warm from the inside and thus help with the first signs of a cold. Sounds like a real miracle weapon so far.
But what is the best way to take ginger? Ginger shots are currently very popular. Most people drink this shot in the morning to start the day feeling invigorated. But if you prefer to start the day with a warm cup of tea, cut off two or three slices of the tuber and boil them in a cup of hot water – preferably with the peel so that no active ingredients are lost under the peel.
Another tip: not a big fan of the tuber and prefer to mix it into your food or eat it hidden? That’s a good idea, because ginger is ideal for marinades, in soups or when frying. Asian dishes in particular contain this miracle ingredient in powder or tuber form. And if you cook with ginger, you should also use garlic. The garlic ensures that the ginger is digestible and increases its cell-protecting effect.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you whether ginger really is a cure. What is certain is that eating ginger has many positive effects on the body. At the first signs of a cold – ginger. For nausea and malaise – ginger. After exercise to boost fat burning – ginger. Why not give it a try and believe in its health-promoting effects? Perhaps the symptoms will disappear even faster than we think.
And I’ll say goodbye now with a warm cup of tea with ginger and lemon!
