Second chance instead of second choice

With our B-goods store, we promise you that none of our electrical appliances will be thrown away unchecked because they are supposedly "second-rate". We check returned devices for safety, flawless appearance and full functionality - and offer them to you at discounted prices here in the store. In doing so, you are making a conscious decision to protect valuable resources and save potential favorite products that deserve a home.

What is B-goods?

B-goods items, sometimes also called “second choice”, are new or as good as new, fully functional products that can no longer be offered at full price for one of the following reasons:

The original packaging of the item is damaged or missing
The item was a display item or was unpacked and/or demonstrated once for display or demonstration purposes (but is unused*)
The item may show signs of use or optical defects, but is technically in perfect condition

All products offered by SEVERIN as B-goods have been technically tested by SEVERIN prior to sale and are therefore technically flawless.

To make it clear to you what the reason for the classification as B-goods is, we provide you with a note for each product in our B-goods store.

As a customer, do I have “disadvantages” by buying B-goods?

No, because B-goods are legally treated as new goods. This means that the two-year warranty also applies to the purchase of B-goods, as well as the 14-day right of withdrawal/return for online purchases. Only the circumstances that led to the classification as B-goods do not constitute grounds for complaint.

What advantages do I have by buying B-goods?

Buying B-goods offers advantages for the environment and also for your wallet. We will now show you what advantages B-goods have to offer:

Cost efficiency: You can save a lot when buying B-goods. B-goods are usually cheaper than new goods without losing quality. This means you get high-quality items at a fraction of the price.
Environmentally friendly: Buying B-goods is not only cheap, but also environmentally friendly. You help to save resources and reduce waste by reusing products that have already been produced.
Quality: Don’t worry about inferior quality. Most B-grade products only have minor external damage or have only been used for a short time. As a rule, the performance remains top and you save money.
Variety: You’ll find an amazing selection of B-goods products, from electronics to household goods. No matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find a B-goods option to suit your needs.

In short: buying B-goods is a smart choice if you want to combine quality, low prices and environmental protection. Get the best deals and benefit from all the advantages that B-goods have to offer.

Why is B-goods so important?

Unfortunately, it is still common today to dispose of B-goods in large quantities. This is often because brands see their image at risk if they do not sell only flawless goods. Other reasons may be that it appears to be cheaper or easier to destroy faulty devices without checking them instead of inspecting them for defects and re-selling them as B-goods.

For this reason, large quantities of products that are perfectly good and can still be used are declared unfit for use and scrapped every year. Energy and raw materials were used to produce these goods, which were literally wasted. We do not want to support this!

How many returns have we already been able to save?

In 2023, we focused intensively on sustainability and resource conservation and our efforts to reduce returns have already resulted in impressive figures. Thanks to our environmentally conscious strategy, we were able to resell or offer a considerable number of devices as B-goods that would otherwise have been disposed of.

In 2023, we were able to salvage 1916 devices in the first quarter, 1780 in the second quarter and 3512 in the third quarter. In total, we refurbished 7208 devices and offered them as B-goods. Compared to the previous year (6277 out of 19860), this shows a significant increase in our sustainability efforts and our commitment to reducing electronic waste and conserving resources and energy.

We are proud to be able to make a contribution to conserving resources and reducing the burden on the environment and look forward to further successes in this direction.
