But sometimes a whole tart is a bit too much, as we're sure you know. That's why we have a recipe for you today that you can use to make a small version of your Bündner Nusstorte.

Ingredients for the dough

  • 300 g wheat flour
  • 150 g soft butter
  • 70 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 sachet orange zest
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt

Ingredients for the topping

  • 200 g chopped walnuts
  • 150 g sugar
  • 150 ml cream
  • 70 g honey

Preparation

  1. Knead all the ingredients for the dough together in a short time.
  2. Leave the dough to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll out the dough 4-5 mm thin.
  4. Cut the dough into rounds.
  5. Bake at 180°C for approx. 8 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.
  6. Leave the cookies to cool for approx. 10 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, place the sugar for the topping in a pan and slowly caramelize.
  8. When the caramel is light brown, add the cream and honey and simmer for approx. 5 minutes.
  9. Fold the walnuts into the hot caramel mixture.
  10. Spread evenly over the cookies using two teaspoons.

Now just leave the cookies to cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar if necessary and then the most important thing: enjoy!

That’s what we stand for.
