Waffles with pistachio cream & caramelized orange
Ingredients
For the dough
- 125 g softened butter
- 90 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 eggs (medium)
- 220 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 180 ml milk
- 1 pinch of salt
For that special topping
- 4 tablespoons pistachio cream
- 80 g white chocolate
- 1 organic orange
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tsp butter
- Chopped pistachios
Preparation
- First, cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla. Then stir in the eggs one at a time.
- Next, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt, then fold them into the mixture alternately with the milk until a smooth batter forms.
- Preheat the waffle iron and bake the waffles until they are golden brown.
- Meanwhile, slice the orange into thin slices.
- Melt the butter in a pan, add the orange slices, and sprinkle with brown sugar. Let them caramelize briefly.
- Carefully melt the white chocolate.
- Now spread the warm waffles with pistachio cream, top with caramelized orange slices, and drizzle with white chocolate.
- Finally, sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
