Waffles with pistachio cream & caramelized orange

Ingredients

For the dough

  • 125 g softened butter
  • 90 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs (medium)
  • 220 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 180 ml milk
  • 1 pinch of salt

For that special topping

  • 4 tablespoons pistachio cream
  • 80 g white chocolate
  • 1 organic orange
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tsp butter
  • Chopped pistachios

Preparation

  1. First, cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla. Then stir in the eggs one at a time.
  2. Next, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt, then fold them into the mixture alternately with the milk until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Preheat the waffle iron and bake the waffles until they are golden brown.
  4. Meanwhile, slice the orange into thin slices.
  5. Melt the butter in a pan, add the orange slices, and sprinkle with brown sugar. Let them caramelize briefly.
  6. Carefully melt the white chocolate.
  7. Now spread the warm waffles with pistachio cream, top with caramelized orange slices, and drizzle with white chocolate.
  8. Finally, sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
