Tomato salsa
This tomato salsa is the perfect accompaniment for barbecues with friends. It tastes fruity and delicious and can be served hot or cold. Enjoy!

Ingredients
Quantity 4 portions
FOR THE SALSA
- 4 white onions
- 4 tomatoes
- A few sprigs of basil
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp tomato puree
- 50 ml white balsamic vinegar
- 50 ml BBQ sauce
- 1 msp. ground cumin
- 1 msp. cayenne pepper
- Salt from the mill
Preparation
- For the salsa, peel and finely dice the onions. Cut the tomatoes crosswise and remove the stalk. Then blanch in boiling water for a few seconds and rinse in ice-cold water. Peel off the skin, quarter the tomatoes, remove the seeds and cut the flesh into cubes. Pluck the basil and chop finely.
- Heat the oil in the pan and sauté the onions over a medium heat until translucent. Add the sugar and briefly add the tomato purée. Deglaze with vinegar, add the tomatoes and stir in the BBQ sauce.
- Remove the salsa from the heat, add the spices and season with salt. Serve the finished salsa cold or warm.
