Live where others go on vacation! – Part 1 – Summer pleasures
SEVERIN is located in the beautiful Sauerland region, more precisely in Sundern. That sounds idyllic and unfortunately unspectacular, but it is not. SEVERIN is known for its combination of regional ties and international orientation. That's what makes us so special.

- 2 tbsp sweetener
- 1 tbsp ground ginger

- Remove the sauce from the heat and preheat the grill to 220 °C.
- Wash the eggplants and cut lengthwise into strips. Brush each slice with the teriyaki sauce and place on the hot grill.

But what makes our Sauerland so interesting and what does it have to offer? In short, a whole lot. The Sauerland is not only popular with tourists, but also enchants the “locals” time and time again. Numerous leisure activities make it easy to escape the stresses of everyday life, and fortunately all year round.
Together with my colleagues, I have put together a few leisure tips for you. In keeping with summer, we’re starting today with sunny leisure activities in the Sauerland.
Fun in the blazing sun!

Summer offers many opportunities for activities. To cool off after a hot day at work, you can jump into one of the many lakes or eat a delicious ice cream and enjoy the view. If you prefer to end the evening with a delicious meal, that’s no problem either. Whether it’s Lake Sorpe, Lake Möhne, Lake Henne or along the Ruhr – there are cozy restaurants in beautiful locations everywhere.
The “Wednesdays at Lake Sorpe” event takes place in Langscheid over several summer weeks. In addition to weekly changing live performances by mostly regional musicians, there are a number of food trucks and stands with cool drinks. Perfect for ringing in the end of the working day with colleagues. There are also similar events in other cities such as Meschede.

Whether sailing on one of the many lakes or cycling on the numerous cycle paths – the Sauerland has something for everyone. And those looking for a challenge can embark on exciting hiking and climbing tours in the dense forests of the Sauerland. No matter which sport you choose, the Sauerland is a true paradise for outdoor activities and offers unforgettable experiences in the midst of breathtaking natural scenery.

There is also a lot going on at weekends in the Sauerland. From May to August, there is a shooting festival in your area from village to village on almost every weekend. If you want, this traditional festival can fill your entire weekend and ensure that you make new friends and have lots of fun in no time at all. Otherwise, there are of course numerous pubs throughout the Sauerland for a cozy evening.
That was just one part of the Sauerland summer – so get in the car and see the beauty of the Sauerland for yourself.
