Here's to the new year, welcome 2020! A healthy and vitamin-packed start to the new year ... isn't that what we all want? not all of us?

Here’s to the new year, welcome 2020! A healthy and vitamin-packed start to the new year … isn’t that what we all want
?
On the one hand, of course, there are the good intentions to live healthier lives overall, but on the other hand,
our palates are also looking forward to finally being tickled awake by
fresh flavors after all the Christmas feasting, the
cookie galore, armies of chocolate Santas and the Christmas goose. My body is literally craving fresh,
colorful, vitamin-rich food. Do you feel that too? Isn’t it a
good thing that I have the SEVERIN ES 3571 Slow Juicer and take a close look at it!
First of all, I’d like to introduce myself … i’m Sarah, I live in the beautiful city of
Hamburg and I write the Blog feiertaeglich.de. True to the motto that there is something to celebrate every day
, I have been collecting and sharing my (not only) culinary
moments of happiness here for a few years now.
But now to the essentials. As already mentioned, I was allowed to test the ES 3571 slow juicer from
SEVERIN. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a slow juicer for a long time.
Because I love fresh juices and a slow juicer juices fruit
particularly gently. This preserves vitamins, minerals and enzymes.
However, I was always put off by the stubborn prejudice that these devices are so incredibly difficult to clean. And that it’s hardly worth juicing if you have to spend hours cleaning the appliance afterwards. And I’ll say it up front: that’s NOT true! Unscrewed, rinsed, done. The individual parts are even dishwasher-safe. That’s how I stood in the way of my personal juicing happiness for years. No more of that.
What is included
The SEVERIN ES 3571 slow juicer comes with the following parts:
- the base with motor and mains plug,
- 2 sieve inserts with coarse and fine mesh made of stainless steel,
- 1 frozen fruit insert for the preparation of sorbet,
- Pressing screw,
- Juice collection container (1.0 l),
- Pomace container (1.3 l), juice
- ruch filler attachment and tamper
- and a cleaning brush.
The juicer can be assembled in next to no time and is ready for immediate use. The assembly is described in detail in the instructions at
, but you don’t actually need them because
is really self-explanatory …
The design of the slow juicer
The slow juicer is extremely slim, so it is also suitable for small kitchens, as
mine. Measuring 22 x 26 x 42 cm, it is really compact and space-saving. The pulp container and juice container fit inside each other, which I find super practical. I really like the simple and elegant design. The juicer comes in the colors grey
metallic, black and stainless steel. It looks decorative on the kitchen worktop. However, if it does need to be moved, this is no problem thanks to its light 3.7 kg weight.
What the juicer is suitable for
Both soft and hard fruit and vegetables can be easily juiced with the slow juicer
. Depending on your preference, you can choose between a coarse and a fine sieve or the frozen
fruits attachment. They are quick and easy to replace. This allows you to prepare everything from fresh
fruit or vegetable juices to strained tomatoes for pizza, sorbets, ice cream and the
base for jams.
How juicing works
Plug it in and you’re ready to go. Once the fruit and vegetables have been prepared: washed, cored and cut into pieces, they are simply fed into the machine via the wide feed chute. It goes straight into the high-quality juice auger (with low speed for gentle preparation), which then does all the work. The appliance is also very quiet. As this is always very important to me with my kitchen appliances, I was pleasantly surprised.
The juice is now fed into the collection container via the juice spout, which has space for 1 liter of fresh juice. There is a drip stop on the juice spout that you can close if necessary – very practical! Leftovers are transported directly into the pulp container (1.3 l capacity).
If something gets stuck or jammed, the problem can usually be solved quickly using the reverse function on the rear switch.
Cleaning
As I said, I was totally impressed by the ease of cleaning. The pulp container can be emptied quickly,
individual parts can be taken apart in no time at all and rinsed under running water. Both the sieves and the other individual parts, apart from the motor of course, are dishwasher-safe. If some pulp does remain, thecleaning brush supplied will do a good job. The handle fits perfectly into the pulp outlet. The juice collection container has a milliliter scale and can be used directly as a practical jug.
My conclusion
The juicer is compact and space-saving in its dimensions, has a beautiful design, is easy to handle, quiet in use and totally easy to clean. What more could you want
!? I am thrilled.
In such a short time, the slow juicer has already become a permanent fixture in my kitchen. I’m already looking forward to freshly strained tomatoes for my pizzas or homemade ketchup, seedless basic juices for my raspberry and redcurrant jellies without having to strain them through a sieve for hours, quick mango sorbet in the summer and fresh ginger
shots for colds.
The Recipe for this delicious cucumber, apple, ginger and lemon juicewhich you can see prepared in the photos
, can be found fresh on my blog. It’s the perfect kick-start to the new
year, I reckon. Totally refreshing in bright green, full of vitamins and a boost for the
immune system and your defenses. For more recipes, simply scan the QR code on the machine.
So, who’s going to start the new year fresh and full of vitamins with me? There’s nothing
easier than that 🙂 Cheers to good health!
All the best, Sarah
