Halloumi vegetable skewers from the grill

Grilling vegetarian food doesn't have to be boring! With my new barbecue skewer recipe, you get aromatic halloumi, deliciously tender vegetables and a barbecue sauce with a kick. The best thing is: the barbecue skewers not only bring variety to the barbecue, they can also be filled and combined in any way you like. Various mushrooms or Brussels sprouts are also great. Just give it a try!

Ingredients
Ingredients for 6 portions
Halloumi vegetable skewers from the grill
  • 3 red peppers
  • 2 large vegetable onions
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 pack of halloumi
Ingredients for the barbecue sauce
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt, pepper
Other
  • Wooden skewers

Preparation

  1. Place the wooden skewers in a water bath for at least an hour so that they do not burn when grilling.
  2. Wash the vegetables, peel the onions and deseed the peppers.
  3. Cut the halloumi and vegetables into equal-sized cubes and place alternately on the wooden skewers.
  4. Cook the skewers over a medium heat on the barbecue until everything is nicely browned.
  5. In the meantime, peel the garlic clove, press into a bowl (alternatively chop finely) and add the remaining ingredients for the barbecue sauce and mix together.
  6. Drizzle the grilled skewers with the sauce and enjoy.
